Privacy and the Internet of Things – Afternoons – ABC Local

Internet of Things

All these devices we have at home or in the car are known as the Internet of Things and there are more than 7 billion of them all over the world.

Anything we own that’s connected to the internet is also a very tempting target for hackers and cybercriminals.

A recent report estimated that four out of five Australians have been hacked through the Internet of Things, so how can we protect ourselves and our gadgets?

Dr David Tuffley is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University, and he specialises in the social impact of technology. David is chatting with ABC Radio Brisbane Afternoons presenter Kat Feeney.
